Our bloggers include Jock Lauterer, director of the Carolina Community Media Project and professor of journalism at the University of North Carolina's School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The Blue Highways Journal chronicles Lauterer’s travels across North Carolina. Also featured is Brian Steffens, the executive director of the National Newspaper Association, whose Community Newspapers News & Notes offers occasional, irregular postings of news and notes to those interested in NNA and the community newspaper industry.

The National Newspaper Association monitors, evaluates and analyzes trends affecting the community newspaper industry through annual research conducted in partnership with the Center for Advanced Social Research of the Reynolds Journalism Institute at the Missouri School of Journalism.
