Flood of public notice bills hits state legislatures

March 13, 2017

At least 62 bills relating to public notice in newspapers have been introduced in 25 different states through the first week of February, according to a review of bill-tracking software used by the Public Notice Resource Center. In addition, no fewer than 16 other bills targeting public notice in three states carried over from 2016 and are still active.

 

Marked copy elimination signups over 400

March 13, 2017

Signups exceed 400 for the Alternate Marked Copy process won by the National Newspaper Association’s Postal Committee on behalf of its members. Not all of those are newspapers, because the creation of this process included the entire Periodicals industry. Signups hit 435 by Feb. 22, and are growing daily.

NNA selects logo for 2017 convention

The National Newspaper Association has selected a logo designed by Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise Production Manager Fawn Wilson-Olivarez to market and brand its 2017 convention, which will be held in Tulsa, Oct. 5-7.
